QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be at least 21 years of age
REPORTS TO: Transportation Director
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
180-days during the school year (August-May) exact days to be established by the Board of Education.
APPOINTMENT:
All bus drivers will be recommended by the Transportation Director to the Superintendent and appointed by the Board of Education.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Have at least 20/40 corrected or uncorrected visual acuity in each eye. Demonstrate sufficient strength, agility, hearing and visual acuity to exercise safe control over the school bus and passengers at all times.
A Bus monitor must have excellent interpersonal skills to relate with students, parents, and school administrators. Be able to transport students in a safe and orderly manner to their destination.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the assistant superintendent and superintendent. The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintains proper discipline and control of the bus at all times
- Maintains the appearance of the bus
- Has the physical ability to perform all duties related to driving a school bus
